The NSW Government announced today an extension of COVID restrictions affecting Greater Sydney, including stay-at-home orders for those who live in, or whose usual place of work is in, Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney Councils. Seeking medical care is one of the exempted reasons that those affected are allowed to leave home. At this stage, the practice will remain open to provide ongoing care for our patients, and elective surgery is proceeding as normally. We have made implemented numerous policies for our practice as part of our COVID Safety Plan, including:
Hand sanitiser stations
Mandatory mask wearing
Ophthalmic equipment shields
Reception and consulting room shields
Additional waiting areas inside and outside the practice
QR Code check in
Telehealth appointments where appropriate
Eye and Retina Specialists was the 2020 SafeWork NSW Awards winner for Work, Health and Safety response to COVID-19 for metropolitan small business. We will continue to update our procedures as advised by NSW Health policies as the situation evolves.
