🚌 Bus Options (Right Outside the Clinic)

 

The closest bus stop is O'Dea Ave at Sam Sing St, located directly outside our clinic entrance. The primary routes serving this stop provide direct access to the CBD, eastern suburbs, and southern Sydney.

    • Route: Starts at Circular Quay, passes through the City Centre (Castlereagh St), Surry Hills, Waterloo (O'Dea Ave), and terminates at Green Square Station.

    • Suburbs served: Circular Quay, Sydney CBD, Surry Hills, Redfern, Waterloo, Zetland, Alexandria.

    • Weekday Frequency: Runs approximately every 10 to 15 minutes during business hours.

  • Route 320 (Gore Hill/Central to Green Square):

    • Route: Connects the lower North Shore and Central to the precinct, running via Elizabeth St, through Waterloo (O'Dea Ave), and terminating at Green Square.

    • Suburbs served: Greenwich, Crows Nest, North Sydney, Sydney CBD, Surry Hills, Waterloo, Zetland, Alexandria.

    • Weekday Frequency: Runs roughly every 15 minutes during peak business times.

  • Route 392 (Little Bay to Redfern):

    • Route: Starts at Little Bay in the south-east, travels up through Kingsford, Rosebery, past the clinic on O'Dea Ave, and terminates at Redfern Station.

🚆 Train & Metro Options

Eye and Retina Specialists at 30-36 O'Dea Avenue Waterloo is located in an accessible transit corridor. We are located one stop away from Central Station, Sydney’s primary transport hub. Patients traveling from most of Greater Sydney, Illawarra, the Central Coat and Newcastle can reach us via the train and network. 

 

1. Green Square Station (T8 Airport & South Line)

  • Distance to Practice: 800 meters (approx. 9–11 minute flat walk via Botany Road and O'Dea Avenue). Alternatively, a brief 2-to-3 minute Uber or taxi ride from the station rank can drop you directly at our building entrance.

  • Stops from Central: 1 stop (approx. 3-minute train ride).

  • Weekday Frequency: Extremely frequent, running every 6 to 8 minutes during standard business hours. 

 

Direct Service Suburbs (No Transfers):

Patients living along the T8 Line corridor can travel straight to Green Square Station without changing trains.

 

This includes the Inner South (Mascot, Wolli Creek, Turrella, Bardwell Park), St George/Canterbury region (Bexley North, Kingsgrove, Beverly Hills, Narwee, Riverwood, Padstow, Panania, East Hills, Holsworthy), and the Macarthur/South-West belt (Glenfield, Macquarie Fields, Ingleburn, Minto, Leumeah, Campbelltown, and Macarthur).

​​2. Waterloo Station (M1 City & Southwest Metro Line) 

  • Distance to Practice: 1.1 kilometers (approx. 13–15 minute walk via Raglan Street and George Street). Alternatively, a quick 3-to-4 minute Uber or taxi ride from the station exit will drop you right at our front door.

  • Stops from Central: 1 stop (approx. 2-minute metro ride

  • Weekday Frequency: Turn-up-and-go service running every 4 to 5 minutes during the day. ​​

Direct Service Suburbs (No Transfers): If you are traveling on the M1 Metro corridor, you can ride directly to Waterloo Station from Sydenham, Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Hurlstone Park, Campsie, Belmore, Lakemba, Wiley Park, Punchbowl, and Bankstown in the South-West. From the North, direct high-speed metro lines serve Barangaroo, Martin Place, Crows Nest, Victoria Cross (North Sydney), Chatswood, North Ryde, Macquarie Park, Macquarie University, Epping, Cherrybrook, Castle Hill, Hills Showground, Norwest, Bella Vista, Rouse Hill, Kellyville, and Tallawong.​​

​Single-Transfer Connections for Greater Sydney

If your local suburb is not listed above, our clinic is still accessible with only one platform transfer at Central Station:

Western Sydney & Inner West (T1, T2, T9 Lines): Patients coming from Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith, Strathfield, or Burwood can take any express line into Central Station, walk to the suburban or metro platforms, and ride one stop to reach us.

 

Sutherland Shire & Illawarra (T4 Line): Change at Wolli Creek Interchange directly onto the T8 Airport Line to arrive at Green Square Station in two stops.

 

Regional & Intercity (Central Coast, Newcastle, Blue Mountains): Take your regional service directly into Central Station, then make a  1-stop transfer via the M1 Metro or T8 Train line.

 

Vision-Impaired & Low-Mobility Accessibility

Green Square and Waterloo Stations feature full lift access, tactile ground grading, wide entry gates, and step-free concourses.

 

The walk from either station to 30-36 O'Dea Avenue consists of generally flat and unobstructed concrete footpaths, facilitating access for patients with low vision, a guide dog, or mobility aids. Alternatively our practice is less than 5 minutes away from both stations by taxi or Uber.

🚗 Driving Directions

Eye and Retina Specialists is accessible via major arterial roads like South Dowling Street (Eastern Distributor) and the M8 Motorway.

 

From the North (North Sydney / Chatswood / Lower North Shore):

  • Route: Follow the Warringah Freeway across the Sydney Harbour Bridge or via the Western Harbour Tunnel, continue onto the Eastern Distributor (M1). Take the Lachlan Street exit, turn right onto Lachlan Street, left onto Bourke Street, and then left onto O'Dea Avenue.

  • Duration: 15 to 25 minutes (traffic dependent).

From the East (Bondi / Randwick / Kensington):

  • Route: Drive west along Alison Road and continue onto Dacey Avenue. Turn right onto South Dowling Street, then take the first left onto Lachlan Street. Turn left onto Bourke Street, and finally turn left onto O'Dea Avenue

  • Duration: 10 to 15 minutes.

From the West (Parramatta / Strathfield / Inner West):​

  • Route: TFrom the West (Inner West / Parramatta): Take Parramatta Road or the M4/M8 Motorway toward Alexandria. Connect to McEvoy Street, continue straight onto Lachlan Street, turn right onto Bourke Street, and then left onto O'Dea Avenue.

  • Duration: 35 to 50 minutes from Parramatta; 15 to 20 minutes from the Inner West.

From the South (Sutherland Shire / St George / Airport Corridor):

  • Route: Travel north along General Holmes Drive onto Southern Cross Drive. Take the Link Road exit, turn left onto Link Road, right onto Bourke Street, and right onto O'Dea Avenue. Turn left into Sam Sing Street.

  • Alternatively, drive north along the Princes Highway onto Botany Road. Turn right onto McEvoy Street, right onto Bourke Street, and left onto O'Dea Avenue. Turn left into Sam Sing Street.

  • Duration: 15 minutes from Sydney Airport; 35 to 45 minutes from the Shire.

🅿️ Patient Parking Options

For the convenience of our patients, we offer allocated free patient parking in the basement car park beneath our building, accessible via Sam Sing Street. Once parked, you can take the lift directly up to Level 1 to reach our reception foyer. Wheelchair and pram accessible.

Please note that these spaces operate on a first-come, first-served basis. While parking is usually available, we cannot guarantee a spot.​

 

Alternative Parking Options

Street Parking: There is 2-hour metered street parking is available directly along O'Dea Avenue, Sam Sing Street, and South Dowling Street.

 

East Village Shopping Centre (4-minute walk): Located in Zetland with parking entry via Defries Avenue. It offers 2 hours of free parking.

 

Supa Centa Moore Park (10minute walk):  Entry via Todman Avenue or Dacey Avenue. Offers unlimited free parking.
