Woman Having Eyes Examined

What to Expect at Your Visit
You may need to have your pupils dilated for a comprehensive eye examination to check the retinal peripheries. You should not drive  for a few hours after pupil dilation if this is deemed necessary. Please arrange for someone to accompany you for your visit, or come by public transport or taxi. A pair of sunglasses is a good idea, especially on a sunny day. You will be initially seen by our trained orthoptists ( ophthalmic assistants), who will assess your condition and perform scans and tests as necessary.

Following this, your specialist doctor will examine your eyes and perform any further tests/treatments if required. We recommend you allow approximately 1-2 hours for your appointment. We make every effort to keep to schedule, although on occasions may run behind due to emergency appointments.

Payment
Payment is required in full on the day of your appointment. This can be done with VISA, Mastercard, American Express or EFPTOS. Cash is also accepted. There is a reduced pensioner rate where applicable. A valid referral from your GP, optometrist or other medical specialist is required for your Medicare reimbursement. Our staff will provide further information regarding costs if a surgical procedure is required. We offer known gap cataract surgery for patients with private health insurance cover.

Cancellations:  In the interest of fairness to all patients, please contact our office as soon as possible in advance if you cannot attend your appointment or need to reschedule.
